Though all these decades numerous documentaries about the Beatles has been released and so a lot about the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
Recently, a new documentary on the Pepper year has been released and screened in the cinemas across the world. I'm talking about "It Was 50 Years Ago Today! (The Beatles: Sgt Pepper & Beyond)".

REVIEW and SPOILERS
This documentary is a sort of continue of "Eight Days A Week", it starts with the ending of touring, followed by develop of the Sgt.Pepper's idea and into the studio recordings. It continues with the death of Brian Epstein, the formation of Apple and the trip to India.
Despite the title, this 2 hours film talks only shortly of the Sgt.Pepper album. At some point the conversation shifts onto Apple getting subject of the documentary completely off track, and only 6 minutes before the end it is flooded with quotes from the interviewees about random things while the video editor struggle to remind us that this is all about the Sgt.Pepper.
The interviews to the Beatles are all well known footages from the 60s, other interviewee includes Tony Bramwell, Julia Lennon, Philip Norman, Hunter Davis, Freda Kelly, jenny Boyd Pete Best and more.
It is poorly edited and does not contain Beatles music, but it has some very interesting curious facts to learn.
I will give it a 4 stars out of 5

Sgt Pepper's Musical Revolution with Howard Goodall
On the 3rd of June this year BBC produced another Sgt.Pepper's documentary called "Sgt Pepper's Musical Revolution with Howard Goodall". This documentary is particularly good. Much better than the above one; the host Howard Goodall guides us though each recording session of each song of the LP, reveals curiosities and analyses the musical structure of each composition. In this documentary you can hear a lot of audio clips from the recent Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Deluxe boxset.

It Was 20 Years Ago Today!
Last one [but this blog will be updated with more] a documentary from 1987 called "It Was 20 Years Ago Today!". It was released as the 20th anniversary of the album release and it is a masterpiece of documentary for that period. Strangely broadcasted only a couple of time on TV.

Rare Beatles Videos Have Resurfaced On The Web
You may have noticed how hard is to find Beatles music not only on YouTube but all over the internet. Since the Beatles catalogue had an extension on its copyrights a lot of videos have been removed and a lot of channels have been shut-down. For example, of the SgtPepperChannel there have been three before. Thanks to the fair use law many channels like can still use some of their music and clips but some copyrights infringements are often detected causing the video to be muted or disable on some mobile devices, that why I opened another SgtPepperChannel channel, but on another platform called Bitchute and Mail.ru. I have other channels like on Dailymotion and Vimeo, but I am planning to transfer everything onto this new channel and use it as a main second channel.

A QUICK LOOK AT THE BEATLES COPYRIGHTS HISTORY OF PAST 30 YEARS
The fights for Paul McCartney to regain the Beatles copyrights from Sony started in 2013 and will continue until 2018. They were famously purchased by Michael Jackson when he outbid McCartney $41.5m for The Beatles’ ATV Music catalogue in 1985. The Jackson estate sold its stake in the collection to Sony/ATV for $750 million last year.

It's been dubbed by the media as "Cliff Richard's Law", the change to copyright duration in sound recordings.
From 1 November 2013, The Copyright and Duration of Rights in Performances Regulations 2013 came into force, implementing the provisions of Directive 2011/77/EU which extended the term of copyright in sound recordings from 50 to 70 years. The change came after years of political wrangling and means that performers are entitled to receive income for an additional 20 years. Additional measures were also included to improve performers' revenue.

The Official "Two of us" videoclip directed by Matt White of Supergrizzly Ltd. in 2003 for Let it Be Naked. A pencil animation with footage from the Get Back session that has never been largely shown on TV or elsewhere.
When the Yellow Submarine film was restored in 2012 the scene of Beatles meeting the doubles and the song Hey Bulldog was added. However, there was an alternate opening for the song "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" and it was sung by Jeremy Hillary Boob PhD.
This scene is not included in the DVD as deleted scene.
Watch out for the first verse lyrics.
While the next clip is taken from the Beatles cartoon episode #35 produced by Al Brodax and also used in 1966 as a promo video for the double A-side single "Eleanor Rigby/Yellow Submarine".

“ I was sitting at the piano when I thought of it. The first few bars just came to me, and I got this name in my head... 'Daisy Hawkins picks up the rice in the church'. I don't know why. I couldn't think of much more so I put it away for a day. Then the name Father McCartney came to me, and all the lonely people. But I thought that people would think it was supposed to be about my Dad sitting knitting his socks. Dad's a happy lad. So I went through the telephone book and I got the name McKenzie. ”

For the John Lennon Anthology in 1998, two videoclips were produced: "Working Class Hero" was created similarly to the scenes used in "Free as a bird" and "Whatever gets you thru the night" similar to the pencil animation on "Two of us" by using real Lennon drawings.
The next four clips were previously uploaded by RevolverTV (aka RevolverMusicVideo) first on YouTube, later on Dailymotion. As much as I know this videos comes from a TV studio archive. Sadly the owner of the channel passed away in 2015, his son took over the administration of the channel but, as most Beatles videos those were taken down too.
The first is a whole unedited take from a single camera of John and Ringo singing and playing throughout "Hello Goodbye". Only a second or two of this take were used in the final editing of the official video.
While this other one has some extra editing towards the end of the clip. Most of it is just the Paul, John, George and Ringo weaving at the camera.
The other one is a completely different video for "I Am The Walrus" made from outtakes.

I guess the other three ex-beatles didn't appreciated those clips of them on his music-video.

A Tour Of The Most Famous Beatles Places In London
I live in Brighton, 60 miles south of London and nowadays is quite impossible planning a trip of such distance with our lifestyle, especially in big city like London with so many places to visit. However, I had the occasion to do the trip 3 times in the past 3 years and I compiled two videos with the film I captured. I turned the video in some sort of visual documentary.

The Beatles have appeared in many TV shows through their career. The majorities of their television appearances occurred between the 1963 and 1965.

Recorded at Granada TV Centre in Manchester Studio Four. They performed Twist And Shout and She Loves You. Twist And Shout was broadcast the same evening, while She Loves You the following Monday.

The event took place at Television House on London's Kingsway from 6.15pm onwards.
Twist And Shout and She Loves You were the main songs of their set-list and for this show they also played the B-side of their current single "She Loves You": I'll Get You.

5. Thank Your Lucky Stars - October 20, 1963
In this show recorded at the Alpha Television Studios in Birmingham and broadcasted the following Saturday, the Beatles sung with no microphones and no guitar cables to the playbacks of All My Loving, Money (That's What I Want) and She Loves You.

Recorded at Granada TV Centre in Manchester Studio Four. They performed Twist And Shout and She Loves You. Twist And Shout was broadcast the same evening, while She Loves You the following Monday.

Filmed at the Little Theatre in Southport and in Manchester and Liverpool for the BBC.
They played again Twist And Shout and She Loves You and also performed Love Me Do.

3. Big Night Out - September 1, 1963
Recorded at Didsbury Studio Centre in Manchester for ABC Television's Big Night Out.
The songs performed were From Me To You, She Loves You and Twist And Shout.

4. Ready Steady Go - October 4, 1963
The event took place at Television House on London's Kingsway from 6.15pm onwards.
Twist And Shout and She Loves You were the main songs of their set-list and for this show they also played the B-side of their current single "She Loves You": I'll Get You.

5. Thank Your Lucky Stars - October 20, 1963
In this show recorded at the Alpha Television Studios in Birmingham and broadcasted the following Saturday, the Beatles sung with no microphones and no guitar cables to the playbacks of All My Loving, Money (That's What I Want) and She Loves You.

Filmed at Gröna Lund amusement park in Stockholm for the Sveriges Television.

The Beatles in reverse
Usually when we think about the Beatles leaving messages that can be heard only if the track is played backwards we associate this to the Paul is Dead conspiracy, but it's not always the case.
That the Beatles played around placing reversed guitar solo in the songs as well as singing backwards like John did in Rain, it's not big news. We shouldn't be surprised that the boys used some of their studio time to go the extra mile and make some songs able to be listened at even backwards.
In this blog I will present a few song backmask that has nothing to do with Paul McCartney's death or satanism. Probably the boys were having a laugh at doing so and, if accidental, there is always the theory of the "subconscious backwards talking", but I won't talk about it, thou I suggest to look it up.
Of course it is required to have a bit of sense of humour to appreciate this blog and its content.
The backmasking behind the song "You Know my names (look up the number)", b-side of the single "Let it Be" is very interesting as it reflects the situation the Beatles were at the moment of the release; as John said: "Apple is losing money. If it carries on like this, we'll be broke in six months."
The motherfucker bit that you can hear sung by Paul could be easily referred to Allen Klein.
Also, there is the indisputable shouting of John Lennon pronouncing his name twice, that's very Lennonesque.
Although "You Know my name (look up the number)" was a song from 1968, in my opinion the messages are not accidental. They were appositely planted there.

Another funny backmask is found in John Lennon's solo song "(Just like) Starting Over" where he sings about finishing the gazelle and not being able to sleep.
While a more sophisticated lyric can be heard when listening at George Harrison's "Blow Away" reversed. References to the Dark Horse can be metaphorically interpreted as galloping and singing of the artist in the message he left.
Words here and there can be found also in the other Harrison's song "Here Come the Moon".
Nothing revealing, still interesting (for some).
There are however a few intention backwards messages/singing.
One of course is the one on Rain that is nothing but the same chorus of the song. John sung it backwards ("stare her down and marry mock near with it") so that (if) reversed sounds like the chorus ("If the rain comes they run and hide their heads"), have a listen:
Another from John is the one in Meat City (1973)
There are actually two versions of this short message ... sped up and reversed message.
The one on the Walls and Bridges album is different from the single B-side of Mind games, have a listen:
While a very obscure one from Paul McCartney can be found on Don't Stop Running, thirteenth track from The Fireman album "Electric Arguments" (2008).

Who was the Walrus?
The Walrus is a character mentioned in many Beatles songs and later on Lennon's song "God", it was also brought back up in the 80s with George Harrison's video "When we were fab".
This video is a collection of references to the walrus in songs and interviews.
Introduction
When Lennon received a letter from his old school, the Quarry Bank High School, telling him that they were having a class based on the analysis of the Beatles' song lyrics, Lennon had the brilliant idea to write a completely nonsense song by using character from books he read and stories he imagined.
The Walrus was inspired by "The Walrus and the Carpenter" story from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass (one of John's favourite books).
"Walrus is just saying a dream", recalled John more than a decade after he composed it.
Same for the "Egg Man" whom has been interpreted as referring to Humpty Dumpty (from "Alice in Wonderland" books).

Dr.Tomoculus made a fantastic job in spotting particular things that really raise some eyebrows when you ask yourself who's behind each mask.
A wrist-watch and a ring on Paul and Ringo seems to appear and disappear and being swapped between each other. Also you can note in a photo that Ringo seems to have no moustaches in his face ... Very interesting.
